Craig N. Landes
Craig N. Landes, CPA is northwest native
and a 1986 graduate of the University of Washington. After
several years with firms in Aberdeen and Bellevue he landed
in Olympia in 1992. He gained a wide variety of experiences
while helping his local firm of 12 grow to 26 and eventually
merge into a national CPA firm. In 2003 he launched Landes
Mertz, enabling him to refocus his practice and resume a
more hands-on approach. Craig’s core services now are
in income and estate tax planning for small business owners
and investors. This includes many people providing services,
from physicians to attorneys to engineers and more. In serving
these clients, he has developed expertise in advising start-up
businesses, QuickBooks accounting support, benchmarking and
other business analysis services, retirement planning, and
performing medical practice revenue evaluations.
Craig has been active in many professional and community organizations.
He helped launch the Hands On Children’s Museum, has
served on WSCPA committees, and was treasurer for the Olympia
Thurston Chamber of Commerce and Westwood Baptist Church. Currently
he is on the board of the Olympia-Lacey-Tumwater Visitor & Convention
Bureau, and is president of the South Puget Sound Estate Planning
Council. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and
